This course is designed for the basic implant dentistry practitioner but equally for the aspiring restorative dentist who wishes to improve his clinical outcomes. The content is meant to address everyday soft and hard tissue deficiencies that these practitioners encounter and have become aware of. Sometimes these tissue deficits become a reason to avoid treatment or worse still, for treatment failure. Addressing these tissue deficits is fundamental to setting up a case for success. And a practitioner empowered with the knowledge and technique to do so knows this well.
The course will first lay a foundation with a clear understanding of the biology of healing and will build on this foundation by then teaching various hard and soft tissue grafting techniques. Participants will then learn a time tested decision making workflow to choose the most appropriate technique for a given clinical situation. Participants will also be taught principles of tissue management and suturing in order to achieve predictable clinical outcomes. Adjunct instrumentation and equipment for grafting will also be extensively discussed. In addition, participants will also gain an insightful understanding of material options available.
